To get started with your Socket Scanner for ticket scanning at events, follow these steps to pair it with your mobile device and configure it in SimpleTix.

Pair the Socket Scanner to Your Mobile Device

The pairing process can be finicky, so be patient and follow the prompts carefully.

  • Download the Socket Scanner Mobile App on your device
  • Follow the pairing instructions provided within the app
  • Ensure your scanner switches to APP MODE after pairing
  • APP MODE is essential for proper functioning with SimpleTix

Configure Scanner Settings in SimpleTix

After pairing your scanner with your phone:

  • Open the SimpleTix app on your mobile device
  • Navigate to Settings
  • Under the Scanner section, select “Socket Scan”

Start Scanning Tickets

Now you’re ready to scan tickets:

  • Navigate to the Admit tab in the SimpleTix app
  • Choose one of these scanning options:
    • Use Scan Anything mode
    • Or, select an event and tap the QR code icon in the bottom right corner of the screen
  • Point your socket scanner at the barcode or QR code on the ticket
  • The app will process the scan and show the ticket details

Once the code is read successfully, you’ll see confirmation in the SimpleTix app. Your scanner is now fully set up and ready to use for checking in attendees at your events!

Troubleshooting Scanner Issues

If your scanner isn’t working properly, try these steps:

  • Ensure the scanner is fully charged
  • Restart both the scanner and your mobile device
  • Re-pair the scanner following the steps above
  • Check that APP MODE is active on the scanner
