Quantity discounts can be pooled across multiple events. Use this when buyers should qualify for a discount based on the total number of eligible tickets they purchase across a group of related events. Common uses include festival bundles, multi-show promotions, class series, and “buy more, save more” offers across several event pages.

How Pooled Discounts Work

When a quantity discount is pooled across events:
  • You choose the events included in the pool.
  • You set the quantity that activates the discount.
  • Tickets from the selected events count together toward that quantity.
  • The discount applies automatically at checkout when the cart qualifies.
For example, if the discount starts at four tickets, a buyer with two tickets for Event A and two tickets for Event B can qualify because the cart contains four eligible tickets in the event pool.

Create a Pooled Quantity Discount

1

Open Quantity Discounts

Go to Marketing > Volume Based Discounts, or open Create Quantity Discount.
2

Choose a discount mode

Select Volume Based Pricing or Buy One Get One.
3

Select the event pool

Choose the events that should count toward the same quantity discount.
4

Set the qualifying quantity

Enter the number of eligible tickets needed to activate the discount.
5

Set the discount

Choose the discount amount, percentage, or BOGO incentive.
6

Review criteria and save

Confirm the criteria, buyer message, and optional password settings, then save the discount.

Choose the Right Criteria

The criteria control how strict the discount is.
  • Same Event: tickets must be from the same event.
  • Same Event Time: tickets must be for the same date and time.
  • Same Ticket Type: tickets must use the same ticket type.
  • Same Seat: tickets must match the same seat across event times, when available.
For a true multi-event pooled promotion, make sure the selected criteria do not unintentionally limit the discount back to a single event.

Buyer Experience

Buyers add eligible tickets to the cart as usual. When the cart meets the pooled quantity rule, SimpleTix applies the discount automatically. If Display message to buyers on checkout screen is enabled, buyers can see a checkout message explaining how to qualify for the discount.

Troubleshooting

Confirm every ticket in the cart belongs to an event in the pool and meets the selected criteria.
Review the criteria. A same-event or same-event-time rule may prevent cross-event pooling.
Turn on Display message to buyers on checkout screen if you want the discount message shown during checkout.
Review the selected events, ticket criteria, password setting, and quantity threshold.
