Managing Promo Codes in SimpleTix
Learn how to create, manage, and report on promo codes for events using SimpleTix’s management dashboard.
Overview
Promo codes can be:
- Single Use (one code for many customers or unique code for each buyer),
- Bulk Generated (hundreds or thousands of random codes),
- Imported (via CSV),
- Exported (for record-keeping or analysis).
Each code can be tied to a specific event or ticket type, with configurable redemption limits, expiration dates, and discount styles (percentage or flat rate).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: Can I apply a code to all my “fall concerts” at once?
- A: Currently, promo codes apply only to specific events or ticket types. You can’t target an entire “event category” en masse.
Q2: Where do I see which orders used a particular code?
- A: Click on the code in the Promo Codes page. The details view shows all orders linked to that code.
Q3: Why can’t I find the Bulk Create or Import options?
- A: Ensure you’re on the event-specific Promo Codes page. If still missing, contact SimpleTix Support or check if your user role is restricted.
Q4: How do I share a code so it applies automatically at checkout?
- A: Copy the unique discount link from the code’s detail page and send it to your customers. That link pre-fills the code at checkout.
Q5: Can I limit the discount to, say, only 2 tickets per order?
- A: Yes. When creating or editing the promo code, set the Tickets per Order limit accordingly.
Conclusion
When you create codes, either single or in bulk, you define discount parameters and event/ticket applicability. Then, use the management features to import/export codes, monitor usage, and generate unique links for affiliates or influencers. SimpleTix’s dashboard centralizes your promo code operations, making it easy to track redemptions and performance across all events.
