Payment processor availability and fee structures can vary significantly by region. Ensure you check the supported options for your area and note that fees are calculated on a per-ticket basis.
3. Understanding the Processing Fees
- When you choose to pass the credit card processing fee on to your ticket buyers, SimpleTix calculates this as an estimated fee on a per-ticket basis.
- The estimate we use when passing fees on to the customer are 2.9% plus 30 cents per ticket. Although external processors (such as Square) might typically a flat 30 cents per order, we add the fee individually to every ticket so that the total service fee per ticket does not change as more tickets are added.
- SimpleTix does not pay the fees to your payment processor, the additional fee is sent to your payment processor where they will deduct their fee.

4. Payouts, Bank Accounts & Tax Information
- All transactions are processed through your connected payment processor. SimpleTix does not directly process payouts or store your bank account details.
- To receive payouts, add your bank account information via your payment processor’s portal.
- SimpleTix does not collect your EIN or issue any tax forms. Tax-related documents (like the 1099-K) are managed and sent by the processor you use. For any tax questions, contact your chosen payment gateway directly.
5. Troubleshooting Common Payment Gateway Issues
If you encounter issues when setting up or switching processors, consider the following tips:
- Ensure all required verification steps are completed with your payment processor (e.g., account verifications for Square or Stripe).
- If you experience activation issues, try disconnecting your current account and reconnecting. Using an incognito/private browsing window can sometimes help resolve session or cache problems.
- For common issues:
- Square: Check your account verification status and refer to Square’s support if necessary.
- Stripe: Verify your account details and consult Stripe’s documentation or support forums.
