How to Change Credit Card Information
Learn how to update your credit card on file, understand temporary charges, and manage service fees for your SimpleTix account.
Changing Your Credit Card on File
Only the account owner, the person who initially set up the account, can update the billing credit card. Verify your account details on the “Your Plan” page or contact SimpleTix Support if needed.
- Sign in to Manager Portal.
- Navigate to the “Your Plan” page by either:
- Clicking the direct link: https://manager.simpletix.com/general/plan
- Selecting Settings (top rail) then Your Plan (left-hand side).
- On this page you’ll see:
- An Add a credit card button if no card is saved.
- An Edit button if you already have one registered.
Temporary Authorization Charge (5 cents or $1.05)
Temporary authorization charges ($0.05 for Visa, Mastercard, or Discover, and $1.05 for American Express) may appear during the verification process.
- When you add a new credit card, SimpleTix performs a temporary authorization check:
- For cards such as Visa, Mastercard, or Discover, the typical amount is

- This charge is solely for verification and does not represent an actual fee — it won’t be captured and should disappear within a few days (depending on your bank’s processing policies).
- Troubleshooting Tip: If the temporary charge does not disappear within the expected time frame, verify with your bank and contact SimpleTix Support for assistance.
Understanding Charges When Passing Fees to Customers

SimpleTix gives you the option to pass on service fees to customers. If you are using Square in the US or Stripe globally, we can collect these fees at the time of checkout meaning you do not have to be billed. However, we are unable to do this for certain types of transactions including:
- Cash Box Office sales
- Gift card transactions (Square only)
- Orders where tickets are added, later adjusted, or refunded

If you are using Auth.net or Square outside of the US, all fees will be billed to your credit card at the end of the month.

Details on Refunds:
- We will refund our fees on refunded orders if the refund is placed within the same month that the order was placed.
- Consult your agreement with your payment processor for fees on refunded orders. Typically, fees on refunds are never refunded. For Auth.net, you may not have to pay fees on voided transactions.
