Step 2: Create Your Waiver in SmartWaiver

- Give your waiver a clear, recognizable name (you’ll select this by name in SimpleTix)
Step 3: Assign Waivers to Your Event
- Navigate to Events and select your event
- Click Event Details on the left-hand rail
- Scroll to the Terms & Conditions / Waivers section
- From the Select e-waiver/invite template dropdown, choose your SmartWaiver by name
Step 4: Configure Waiver Signing Options
Choose who can sign the waiver:Adults Only (Default)
- When to use: Standard single-person waivers where each ticket holder signs their own waiver
- How it works:
- SimpleTix automatically pre-fills the waiver with the ticket holder’s name and email address
- Each attendee receives a personalized waiver link
- The attendee only needs to review and sign—no data entry required
- Uses a unique identifier to track waiver status—no manual name matching required
- Best for: Events where each participant must sign individually (tours, activities, classes)
Adults & Minors
- When to use: Family events where a parent/guardian needs to sign for themselves and their children
- How it works:
- The waiver is not pre-filled with ticket information
- One adult signs the waiver for themselves and can add multiple minors to the same waiver
- One adult per waiver, but multiple minors can be added to that adult’s waiver
- All participants (the adult + their minors) are covered by that single waiver signature
- SimpleTix matches waivers based on email address and first/last name
- Best for: Family attractions, youth programs, or events where parents/guardians sign for their children
When using “Adults & Minors” mode, SimpleTix matches signed waivers to ticket holders by comparing the email address, first name, and last name. If there are any differences between what’s entered on the waiver and what’s on the ticket, the waiver will not be marked as signed in SimpleTix.Ensure customers enter their information exactly as it appears on their ticket purchase to avoid check-in issues. We recommend using the SmartWaiver mobile app at check-in to confirm signature status rather than relying solely on SimpleTix’s waiver status indicator when using Adults & Minors mode.
Choose “Adults Only” for most events—the pre-filled information speeds up the waiver process and reduces errors. Use “Adults & Minors” only when you need guardians to sign for multiple family members on one waiver.
Step 5: Enable Scan Blocking (Optional)
Toggle on Prevent scan unless waiver signed to block entry for anyone who hasn’t completed their waiver.- Toggle ON: Tickets cannot be scanned until the associated waiver is signed
- Toggle OFF: Tickets can be scanned regardless of waiver status (you can collect waivers on-site)
If you enable scan blocking, make sure to send waiver reminders well before the event to avoid check-in delays. See the Managing Waivers guide for how to send reminders.
