During COVID-19 most venues will need to follow social distancing rules.
You can create a social distancing rule within SimpleTix that will automatically block seats around each booked seat.
This will help you comply with your local laws on social distancing, e.g. stay: 6 ft / 2 meters apart.
To set social distancing rules:
1. Go to manager.simpletix.com
2. Once logged in, from the top menu click on Events.
3. Under the events list, type in your event's name to search for it.
4. Once you see it on the list, click on it to edit.
5. Once in the event, click Times & Tickets on the left panel.
6. On the next screen, you'll see a list of your event schedules. Click on the one you'd like to edit.
7. From the top click on the drop-down for Social Distancing Rules
- If you have an existing one, simply choose it from the list.
- If you do not have one yet or need a new one, click Create New Ruleset.
8. In the pop-up window, type in your Ruleset Name.
9. Depending on the guidelines for your area, you can set how many seats are blocked from a booked seat.
- For 6-feet apart, the standard is 2 seats.
- Type in your preferred number.
10. You can also block the seats in front and behind a booked seat.
- Check on it to enable the option.
11. You can also automatically Disable Aisle Seats.
- Put a check on the option to enable it.
12. You can then specify how many seats from the aisle are automatically disabled.
13. You have the option to set a maximum group size.
- This would mean that people who come in as a group won't have spaced seats.
- For example, an attendee can purchase 10 seats that are directly beside each other.
- The rule set will only disable seats surrounding their 10 seats.
14. Once done with your specifications, click Save.
- This will save the created social distancing ruleset.
15. Scroll up to the top of the ticket page then click Save again.
- This will apply the selected ruleset to your event time.
16. As you can see from the example below, someone can purchase seats for a group of 3.
The seats surrounding them are disabled, applying the social distancing ruleset you created.
