# Multi-Factor Authentication Setup Guide
Source: https://help.simpletix.com/docs/account-security/multi-factor-authentication
Learn how to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) on your SimpleTix account using an authenticator app for enhanced account security.
## What is Multi-Factor Authentication?
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your SimpleTix account by requiring two forms of verification when you log in:
1. Your password
2. A time-based code from your authenticator app
This helps protect your account even if your password is compromised.
***
## 1. Prerequisites
Before setting up MFA, you'll need:
* An authenticator app installed on your mobile device (such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, or similar)
* Access to your SimpleTix account
***
## 2. Enabling Multi-Factor Authentication
1. Log in to the [Manager Portal](https://manager.simpletix.com/)
2. In the top rail, click on on your user logo and then click **Your Profile**
3. Under **MFA Set-up** change the "Enable MFA" preference from "No" to "Authenticator App"
4. Enter your password under "Current Password"
5. Click "Save"
***
## 3. Setting Up Your Authenticator App
Once you initiate MFA setup, you'll see a QR code on your screen:
1. Open your authenticator app on your mobile device
2. Select the option to add a new account (usually a "+" or "Add" button)
3. Choose to scan a QR code
4. Point your phone's camera at the QR code displayed on your SimpleTix screen
5. Your authenticator app will automatically add your SimpleTix account
If you can't scan the QR code, most authenticator apps allow you to manually enter a setup key. This can be found by clicking "Copy to Clipboard" above the QR code in SimpleTix.
***
## 4. Verifying Your Setup
1. After scanning the QR code, your authenticator app will begin generating 6-digit codes that refresh every 30 seconds
2. Enter the current 6-digit code from your authenticator app into the verification field on SimpleTix
3. Click **Verify**
***
## 5. Logging In with MFA
Once MFA is enabled, your login process will include an additional step:
1. Enter your email and password as usual
2. You'll be prompted to enter a verification code
3. Open your authenticator app and find your SimpleTix account
4. Enter the current 6-digit code displayed in the app
5. Click **Verify** to complete login
Verification codes expire after 30 seconds. If a code doesn't work, wait for the next code to generate and try again.
***
## 6. Troubleshooting
**Code not working?**
* Wait for the next code to generate if the current one is expiring soon
* Double-check you're entering the code for the correct account in your authenticator app
**Lost access to your authenticator app?**
* Contact SimpleTix support at [support@simpletix.com](mailto:support@simpletix.com)
**Need to switch to a new device?**
* You'll need to disable MFA on your account first, then re-enable it with your new device
* Alternatively, transfer your authenticator app data to your new device using your app's built-in backup/transfer feature
***
## 7. Disabling Multi-Factor Authentication
If you need to disable MFA:
1. Log in to the [Manager Portal](https://manager.simpletix.com/)
2. In the top rail, click on on your user logo and then click **Your Profile**
3. Under **MFA Set-up** change the "Enable MFA" preference from "Authenticator App" to "No"
4. Enter your password under "Current Password"
5. Click "Save"
Disabling MFA will reduce your account security. Only disable it if absolutely necessary, and consider re-enabling it as soon as possible.
***
## Best Practices
* **Use a reliable authenticator app:** Choose a well-established app from a trusted provider
* **Enable MFA on all administrator accounts:** Protect accounts with elevated permissions
* **Keep your authenticator app updated:** Regular updates ensure security and compatibility
* **Don't share codes:** Never share verification codes with anyone, including SimpleTix support
Consider using an authenticator app that offers cloud backup to make device transfers easier while maintaining security.

# Enabling the “See Other Events” Button During Checkout
## Overview
This feature helps buyers discover additional events by providing a **“See Other Events”** button during the ticket selection process. It’s especially useful for venues or organizers with diverse offerings (e.g., farm events, concerts, festivals) who want to cross-promote their events. In this guide, you’ll learn how to enable the feature, where the button appears, and what buyers see when they click it, along with answers to frequently asked questions.

5. **Confirm Placement During Checkout:**\
Once enabled, buyers will see the **“See Other Events”** button immediately after selecting tickets – before the payment information screen appears. This offers a brief moment where they can explore additional event options without disrupting the ticket purchase process.
***
## What Buyers See and How It Works
* During checkout, buyers first select tickets for an event.
* A clearly labeled **“See Other Events”** button appears as part of the ticket selection process.
* Clicking the button directs buyers to a dedicated page where additional events are listed. This page typically features event titles, dates, times, short descriptions, and images (if provided), and is designed to be visually appealing and easy to navigate.
* Buyers can review these additional events and add tickets from multiple events to a single cart, ensuring a seamless multi-event checkout experience.

# Enabling Webhook Notifications
Source: https://help.simpletix.com/docs/advanced-options/enabling-webhook-notifications
Instructions for turning on and configuring webhook notifications in SimpleTix.
## 1. Enable Webhooks
* Log in to your SimpleTix Manager account. You can either go directly to the [Advanced Options page](https://manager.simpletix.com/general/advanced-options) or log in at [https://manager.simpletix.com/](https://manager.simpletix.com/) and click on **Settings** in the top rail.
* In the **Settings** menu, select **Advanced Options** from the left-hand side.
* Locate the webhook options section where you can configure both types of webhooks.
## 2. Configure Your Webhook URLs
* For Order Webhooks: Toggle on "Turn on the Post Order webhook feature" and enter your order notification endpoint URL.
* For Post-Scan Webhooks: Toggle on "Turn on the Post Scan webhook feature" and enter your scan notification endpoint URL.
* Each webhook URL is the endpoint on your server where SimpleTix will send POST notifications.
* Provide URLs that are capable of accepting incoming POST requests. These endpoints should be secure (using **HTTPS**) and able to process URL-encoded form data.
## 3. Webhook Types and Trigger Details
SimpleTix offers two types of webhooks that can be configured from the Advanced Options section:
### Order Webhook
* When a new order is created via SimpleTix, a POST request is sent to your configured URL.
* This webhook triggers immediately after an order is successfully completed.
### Sample Order Webhook Response
The Order webhook sends form-encoded data:
```
Address=&City=Boston&Country=US&DiscountTotal=0.00&Email=john.doe%40example.com&FirstName=John&Identifier=aa123456-1a2b-3c4d-5e6f-7890abcdef12&ApplicationId=123a4b56-c789-0d1e-2f3g-456h7i8j9k0l&LastName=Doe&OrderDate=5%2f5%2f2025+3%3a25%3a12+PM&OrderNumber=I-1234567A-0&OrderStatus=Order+Complete&Organization=&Phone=5555551234&PostalCode=02101&OrderTotal=0.00&ServiceFeeTotal=0.00&SubTotalAmount=0.00&TaxTotal=0.00&TransactionType=Free
```
Order webhooks use form-encoded data; Post-Scan webhooks use JSON. Configure your endpoint to handle the format for each webhook type.
### Post-Scan Webhook
* Sends a POST request for successful admissions through the SimpleTix Organizer app or a connected Alvarado device performing a live scan.
* Alvarado offline validations synced later do not send post-scan notifications. Do not use the webhook alone as a complete record of offline attendance; check admission reports as well.
* This webhook triggers only for actual scans and will not fire when attendees are admitted manually through the web interface.
* Enables real-time tracking and custom actions when attendees check in at your event.
Both webhook types can be configured independently from the Advanced Options page, allowing you to send different types of notifications to different endpoints as needed.
### Sample Post-Scan Webhook Response
When a ticket is scanned, you'll receive a response like this:
```json theme={null}
{
"Barcode": "123456789012345",
"Code": "Success",
"Result": {
"ParticipantId": 1234567,
"ParticipantFirstName": "John",
"ParticipantLastName": "Doe",
"EventType": 0,
"SectionTitle": "VIP Access",
"IsPaid": true,
"CheckIdAtDoor": false,
"CheckedIn": "0001-01-01T00:00:00"
},
"Message": "Event Name Section: VIP Access",
"WebhookUrl": "https://your-webhook-endpoint.com/scan-notifications/"
}
```
This response includes the participant details, ticket information, and scan result, allowing you to trigger custom actions in your systems when attendees arrive at your event.

# Restrict Ticket Access in SimpleTix
Source: https://help.simpletix.com/docs/advanced-options/restrict-ticket-access
Learn how to control who can purchase tickets using password protection or email domain restrictions while keeping event details public.
Restrict Ticket Access is a powerful feature that lets organizers control who can buy tickets to an event, while still displaying public information (date, time, location). Whether you need a pre-sale, alumni gathering, donor event, or private staff function, this feature helps you keep ticketing secure and exclusive.
You can choose between two restriction methods:
* **Password Protection**: Set one password that attendees must enter before viewing ticket options
* **Email Domain Restrictions**: Specify up to five domains (e.g., @company.com or @university.edu). Only email addresses matching those domains can complete a purchase
Your event page remains visible to everyone, showing all the standard information. Only the ticket purchasing section requires authentication. Admins can turn restrictions on or off or switch between password vs. domain protection at any time with changes taking effect immediately.
This feature can be combined with individual password-protected tickets for additional layers of security.
***
# Use Cases
## Pre-Sales
Offer early-bird access only to newsletter subscribers who know the password.
## Alumni/Donor Events
Share password or domain list with alumni or major donors to restrict access.
## Private Staff/Student Events
Ensure only on-campus staff (e.g., @school.edu emails) can buy tickets.
## VIP or Sponsor-Only Access
Limit access to partners by adding their corporate email domains.

* If it doesn't match, they cannot proceed
3. **Purchase Flow:**
* After verification, ticket options appear.
* They select tickets and complete checkout as usual.
***
# Best Practices
## Clear Instructions
In your event description or emails to attendees, let people know they'll need a password or must register with an approved email domain.
## Use Unique Passwords
Choose a password that's easy to share with the intended group but hard for outsiders to guess.
## Maintain Domain Lists
Periodically review your allowed domains if your audience changes. Remove outdated or irrelevant domains to keep access tight.
## Plan for Changes
If you anticipate opening ticketing to a broader audience later, schedule a reminder to disable or update restrictions before that date.
## Communication Is Key
Share specific instructions (password or domains) in your marketing emails and social posts so guests know exactly how to access tickets.
## Combine with Promo Codes
For extra exclusivity, you can still use promo or discount codes in tandem with restrictions—buyers will need both to unlock certain discounted ticket types.
***
# Troubleshooting
* Confirm that you saved the correct password or domain entries (no typos, no extra spaces)
* If using Email Domain Restrictions, remind them to register with an email matching exactly one of the allowed domains (e.g., [john@school.edu](mailto:john@school.edu), not [john@dept.school.edu](mailto:john@dept.school.edu) unless that's listed)
Go back to **Event Details** → **Restrict Event Access**, click **Password Protection**, you will see the current password set. To change it, overwrite the password, click **Save** and communicate the new password to attendees.
You can add or remove domains at any time. Changes apply instantly. Notify your audience if you add new approved domains.
***
# Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Currently, you can choose only one restriction type per event. For combined security, consider using a unique password and limiting its distribution to those with the proper email domain.
Up to five domains per event.
Yes. Public-facing details remain visible—only the checkout flow is locked behind the chosen restriction.
Not at the moment. Restrictions apply at the event level: anyone who wants any ticket must pass verification first.
When using Email Domain Restrictions, SimpleTix checks the domain portion (after the "@") during purchase. If it's not on your allowed list, the buyer cannot complete checkout.

## Options for Multiple Email Recipients
### Option A: Use Automatic Forwarding
* Set up an automatic forwarding rule in the inbox that receives the notification.
* **Gmail users:** Configure forwarding in the **“Forwarding and POP/IMAP”** section in Settings.\
(For detailed help, search for “Gmail automatic forwarding setup” or visit [Google’s support page](https://support.google.com).)
* **Outlook users:** Go to **File > Manage Rules & Alerts** and create a new rule to forward messages.\
(See Microsoft’s support site for step-by-step instructions.)
### Option B: Create a Shared Email or Distribution List
* Consider using a shared email account or a distribution list to manage high notification volumes.
* This method helps keep your primary inbox uncluttered while providing team-wide access to notifications.
### Option C: Explore Integration Options
* For advanced workflows (e.g., splitting notifications by event type), consider using custom webhooks or a Zapier integration.
* Although not a built-in feature, these methods can automatically route notifications based on set criteria.
* Refer to our integration documentation for the latest on webhook and Zapier configurations.
* **Real-Time Notifications:**\
The order confirmation email (including ticket sale details) is sent *immediately after the sale is processed*. Minor processing or email-delivery delays may occur.
## In Summary
To receive an email for every ticket sale, use our **BCC order confirmation** feature. For multiple recipients, set up an automatic forwarding rule or use a shared email/distribution list. For advanced notification routing, explore webhook or Zapier integrations. Note that notifications are sent immediately after processing, though minor delays can occur.

# Sending Email Blasts to Attendees
This guide covers how to send targeted email communications to your event attendees, whether for promotional offers, important updates, or post-event surveys.
Email blast functionality is not available for free events without a connected payment processor. To use this feature for free events, please connect a payment processor to your account first.
If you are sending an email about event cancellation, please use the dedicated event cancellation workflow instead of a regular email blast. This ensures proper refund processing and ticket handling. See our [Complete Guide to Cancelling Your Event](/docs/event-cancellation/cancelling-your-event) for detailed instructions.
## Creating and Sending an Email Blast
Go to [manager.simpletix.com](http://manager.simpletix.com) and open your event.
Within the event, click on **Attendee Communication** in the left-hand navigation rail.
Click on the **Actions** button, then select **Create Email Blast** from the dropdown menu.

Select the event time whose attendees you'd like to send the email to. If you'd like to select more than one date or past events, click **More Options**.
You can further narrow your recipients using the filtering options in the **"Who should receive this email?"** panel:
**Check-in status:**
* **All attendees** — sends to everyone with a ticket
* **All attendees that were scanned in** — only those who were checked in at the event
* **All attendees that were not scanned in** — only those who did not attend
**Ticket Selection:**
* **All ticket types** — includes all ticket types for the event
* **Selected Ticket Types** — choose specific ticket types to target
These filters can be combined. For example, you could email only attendees with VIP tickets who were scanned in, or send a follow-up to all General Admission holders who did not attend.
Toggle the **Include E-Tickets?** option on or off, depending on whether you want to include the attendees' e-tickets in the email.
Enter your email subject then proceed to the message editor. You can use the available placeholders to personalize your message
Before sending to all attendees, click **Send Yourself a Test Email** to preview how your message will appear to recipients.
Once you're satisfied with your email content, you'll have the option to send the email immediately or schedule it for a later date or time. After choosing, click Send or Save at the top right of the page.
## Send an Email from an Archived Event
You can send an immediate attendee communication from an archived event.
1. Open the archived event and go to **Attendee Communication**.
2. Select **Actions > Create Email Blast**.
3. Choose the recipients, compose the message, and select the option to send it now.
Emails from archived events can only be sent immediately. Scheduling an archived-event email for a later date or time is not available.
## Recipient Limits and Preview
Review the selected audience and preview count before sending. The daily limit is **10,000 recipients for the site**; earlier sends can use part of that allowance.
If a filtered send is unexpectedly blocked, contact [Support](mailto:support@simpletix.com) with the event, selected filters, preview count, and error.
## Best Practices for Email Blasts
* **Keep it concise**: Respect your attendees' time with clear, to-the-point messaging
* **Use a descriptive subject line**: Make the purpose of your email immediately clear
* **Personalize when possible**: Use the available placeholders to make emails feel personalized
* **Test before sending**: Always send yourself a test email to check formatting and links

### Attendee Info

## Attendee Information
Attendee information comprises the details you collect from each ticket buyer, including:
* **Basic Details:** Name, email address, and phone number.
* **Preferences:** Special requests or instructions to improve the check-in process.
* **Additional Data:** Any extra information needed for specific event requirements.
Collecting accurate attendee information is crucial for smooth event operations, effective communication, and efficient check-in at the door.

* **Gather Special Requests:** Ask for dietary restrictions, accessibility needs, or seating preferences.
* **Enhance Personalization:** Capture insights like how attendees heard about your event or any additional comments.
* **Improve Operational Efficiency:** Ensure staff have all necessary information before the event, reducing delays at check-in.

# Group Admit Feature for SimpleTix
Source: https://help.simpletix.com/docs/attendee-management/admissions/group-admit-feature-for-simpletix
Learn how to enable and use the Group Admit feature in the SimpleTix Organizer app for efficient event check-ins.
# Group Admit in SimpleTix Organizer
Below is a refined explanation addressing group admit for the SimpleTix Organizer app. Note that the group admit feature is available only on the SimpleTix Organizer app – not on the SimpleTix Easy Entry app – and is designed for General Admission events (Flex Pass events require manual check-in).
## 1. Enabling Group Admit
* Log in to your SimpleTix account at [https://manager.simpletix.com/](https://manager.simpletix.com/).
* Navigate to **Advanced Options** by either:
* Directly visiting [https://manager.simpletix.com/general/advanced-options](https://manager.simpletix.com/general/advanced-options), or
* Clicking **Settings** on the top rail and then selecting **Advanced Options** from the left panel.
* Toggle the **Group Admit** setting to “on.”
## 2. Using Group Admit During Check-In
* When a large group or family with multiple tickets arrives, scanning one of the QR codes in the order will prompt a choice:
* **Admit All** Button – Use this button when everyone in the party is present. Tapping this will quickly mark every ticket in the order as admitted. Once processed, each ticket visually changes — the button becomes green and displays “Admitted.”
* **View All** Option – Use this when only part of the group is present. This option displays individual tickets in the order. You can then swipe right on the specific tickets you want to admit one at a time.
## 3. Handling Partial Groups & Order Lookup
* If only part of the group is present, use **View All** to admit only the available tickets.
* If not all group members have arrived or the order tickets aren’t immediately available, you can look up an order by name in the app:
* Click Admit on the top rail of the app
* Select your event
* Search by Attendee Name, Buyer Name, Order Number, or Last 4 Digits of the Credit Card
Integrate group admit features with comprehensive attendee management.

# How to Manage and View Admission Details on the web
## 1. Accessing Attendee Management
* Log in to [Manager Portal](https://manager.simpletix.com).
* Click **Events** on the top rail and select your event.
* In the left-hand rail, click **Attendee List**. You can also copy the URL from your browser's address bar once on the event's management page; this URL contains the unique event identifier, which serves as a direct link.
## 2. Admitting or Unadmitting Individual Tickets
* On the Attendee List page, next to each attendee's name, you'll see a **Mark admitted** button.
* Click this button to admit the ticket – once admitted, the button will turn green and display **Admitted**
* Click the **Admitted** button again to unadmit it if you need to allow the ticket to be scanned again.
## 3. Admitting or Unadmitting All Tickets in an Order
* Click on the **Order ID** to view the details for that order.
* From the order details page, you can:
* Use the **Admit All** option to mark every ticket in that order as admitted.
* *Note:* If the order contains tickets with different dates (such as a multi-day pass or tickets for various performances), using **Admit All** will mark every ticket as admitted regardless of the individual event date. Use this option with caution.
* Toggle the admission status for all tickets if you need to reverse the process. All tickets in the order will have their statuses toggled, so handle bulk actions carefully.
## 4. Viewing Admission Details
* By clicking on an **Order ID**, you can view an order's details.
* The detailed view displays:
* Whether a ticket has been admitted.
* Which scan device was used.
* Date and time of admission.

# Importing/Uploading Attendees
* Access your event's **Attendee Management** page (via the **Events** tab, select your event, then **Attendee List**).
* From the **Options** dropdown, select **Import Attendees**.
* Follow the instructions in the pop-up window:

* Note: If you do not see the **Import Attendees** option, please contact [SimpleTix Support](mailto:support@simpletix.com).
### Ticket Notes and Internal Order Notes
Use the downloaded import template's **Special\_Ticket\_Note** column for a note the attendee should see. It appears under **Ticket Note** on the mobile ticket and PDF.
The separate **Order\_Note** column is for internal order information and is not displayed to attendees. For instructions shared by everyone attending an event, use [event-specific PDF ticket text](/docs/order-confirmation-and-e-tickets/customizing-pdf-e-ticket-messages).
### Upload Tracker
When you upload attendees, the **Upload Tracker** lets you monitor the progress of your import in real time. You can see how many records have been processed, how many succeeded, and how many failed. If any records fail, you can **download the failed transactions** as a file to review the errors and re-upload corrected data.
### Combine E-Tickets on Common Email
When importing attendees, you have the option to **combine all e-tickets on a common email address**. If multiple attendees in your upload share the same email, their e-tickets will be grouped and sent together in a single email rather than as separate messages.
***
# Viewing Scan Reports for Specific Events and Ticket Types
* Within **Attendee List**, click on the **Options** dropdown and choose **Scan Report**.
* Use the provided filters to select:
* The specific event date/time.
* The ticket types you wish to review.

* For bulk reminders:
* Click **Options** and then **Selfie Reminder**.

## Accessing Attendee Management
1. Log in to [Manager Portal](https://manager.simpletix.com):\
Click **Events**, select the event you’re managing, then choose **Attendee List** from the left-hand menu.
## Viewing and Managing Uploaded Photos
* Within Attendee Management, you’ll see a list of your attendees. If an attendee has uploaded a photo, it will appear next to their name and ticket/order information.
* To update or remove an attendee’s photo, click on the photo. Two options will appear:
* **Upload a new photo:** Replace the existing image.
* **Reject the existing photo:** Use this option if the photo is blurry, unclear (e.g., not a proper headshot), or does not meet your event’s guidelines. When you reject a photo, SimpleTix sends the attendee an email with a link to re-upload a photo. Note that rejection does not affect the ticket’s validity.
## Sending Photo Upload Reminders
### Individual Reminder
* In Attendee Management:
* Use the search function to find the attendee by name.
* Locate their entry — look for the **Send Reminder** button (typically near their photo or within their attendee card).
* Click the button to send a reminder email to that individual.
### Bulk Reminder
* In Attendee Management:
* Click on the **Options** menu.
* Select **Selfie/Photo Upload Reminder**.
* A form will appear where you can enter your custom email subject and message. SimpleTix automatically inserts the unique upload link for each attendee in the email.
## Additional Notes
* The same process applies if the functionality is used for other verification purposes (such as uploading student IDs or vaccination cards). Just clarify which type of photo is required per your event policies.
* There is no conflict with ticket validity — rejecting a photo is solely to ensure image quality and consistency.
* This guide is focused solely on managing attendee photos and sending reminders for photo uploads.
## Buyer Access Through Manage Your Order
When both the event and purchased ticket type require a selfie, Manage Your Order offers the photo-upload action. If the action is missing, check both settings before resending the confirmation.

# Changing Your Credit Card on File
Only the account owner, the person who initially set up the account, can update the billing credit card. Verify your account details on the “Your Plan” page or contact [SimpleTix Support](mailto:support@simpletix.com) if needed.
* Sign in to [Manager Portal](https://manager.simpletix.com).

* On this page you’ll see:
* An **Add a credit card** button if no card is saved.
* An **Edit** button if you already have one registered.
# Temporary Authorization Charge (5 cents or \$1.05)
Temporary authorization charges (\$0.05 for Visa, Mastercard, or Discover, and \$1.05 for American Express) may appear during the verification process.
* When you add a new credit card, SimpleTix performs a temporary authorization check:
* For cards such as Visa, Mastercard, or Discover, the typical amount is `$0.05`.
* For American Express, the charge is usually `$1.05`.
* This charge is solely for verification and does not represent an actual fee — it won’t be captured and should disappear within a few days (depending on your bank’s processing policies).
* *Troubleshooting Tip:* If the temporary charge does not disappear within the expected time frame, verify with your bank and contact [SimpleTix Support](mailto:support@simpletix.com) for assistance.
# Understanding Charges When Passing Fees to Customers
* SimpleTix gives you the option to pass on service fees to customers. If you are using Square in the US or Stripe globally, we can collect these fees at the time of checkout meaning you do not have to be billed. However, we are unable to do this for certain types of transactions including:
* Cash Box Office sales
* Gift card transactions (Square only)
* Orders where tickets are added, later adjusted, or refunded
* If you are using Auth.net or Square outside of the US, all fees will be billed to your credit card at the end of the month.
* **Details on Refunds:**
* We will refund our fees on refunded orders if the refund is placed within the same month that the order was placed.
* Consult your agreement with your payment processor for fees on refunded orders. Typically, fees on refunds are never refunded. For Auth.net, you may not have to pay fees on voided transactions.

## 2. Regional Availability of Payment Gateways
The availability of payment processors differs by region. Use the table below as a reference:
| **Region/Country** | **Supported Processors** |
| --------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------- |
| United States | Square, Stripe, Authorize.net, PayPal |
| Canada | Square, Stripe, PayPal |
| United Kingdom | Square, Stripe, PayPal |
| Australia | Square, Stripe, PayPal |
| Europe (select zones) | Stripe, PayPal |
| Rest of the World | Stripe, PayPal (Authorize.net and Square may not be available) |
## Payment methods accepted by each payment processor
| Payment Method | Square | Stripe | Auth.net | PayPal |
| ----------------- | -------- | ------------------------ | -------- | ---------------- |
| Credit Card | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| Apple Pay | ✅ | ✅ | ❌ | ❌ |
| Buy Now Pay Later | Afterpay | Affirm, Afterpay, Klarna | ❌ | PayPal Pay Later |
| Cash App | ✅ | ✅ | ❌ | ❌ |
| PayPal | ❌ | ✅ | ❌ | ✅ |
| Venmo | ❌ | ❌ | ❌ | ✅ |
| ACH | ❌ | ✅ | ❌ | ❌ |
| Link | ❌ | ✅ | ❌ | ❌ |
| Crypto | ❌ | ✅ | ❌ | ❌ |
Payment processor availability and fee structures can vary significantly by region. Ensure you check the supported options for your area and note that fees are calculated on a per-ticket basis.
***
## 3. Understanding the Processing Fees
* When you choose to pass the credit card processing fee on to your ticket buyers, SimpleTix calculates this as an estimated fee on a per-ticket basis.
* The estimate we use when passing fees on to the customer are **2.9% plus 30 cents per ticket**. Although external processors (such as Square) might typically a flat 30 cents per order, we add the fee individually to every ticket so that the total service fee per ticket does not change as more tickets are added.
* SimpleTix does not pay the fees to your payment processor, the additional fee is sent to your payment processor where they will deduct their fee.
For additional fee details and a detailed breakdown, please visit our [pricing page](https://www.simpletix.com/pricing.php).
***
## 4. Payouts, Bank Accounts & Tax Information
SimpleTix does not hold, process, or transfer your ticket sales revenue. All funds from ticket sales go directly to your connected payment processor account (Square, Stripe, etc.). You must access your payment processor account to view balances and transfer funds to your bank account.
* All transactions are processed through your connected payment processor. SimpleTix does not directly process payouts or store your bank account details.
* To receive payouts, add your bank account information via your payment processor's portal.
* SimpleTix does not collect your EIN or issue any tax forms. Tax-related documents (like the 1099-K) are managed and sent by the processor you use. For any tax questions, contact your chosen payment gateway directly.
### Accessing and Transferring Your Funds
To access your ticket sales revenue:
1. **Log in to your payment processor account** (Square, Stripe, etc.)
2. **View your available balance** in your payment processor dashboard
3. **Transfer funds to your bank account** using the payment processor's transfer or deposit feature
4. **Set up automatic transfers** (optional) through your payment processor settings to receive funds on a regular schedule
The timing of fund availability and transfers varies by payment processor. Generally, funds are available within 1-3 business days after a transaction, but this can vary based on your processor's policies and your account standing.

1. In SimpleTix, go to **Settings** > **Store**
2. Select **PayPal** as your payment processor
3. Click **Connect** to authorize SimpleTix to access your PayPal account
4. You'll be redirected to PayPal to log in and approve the connection
5. Once approved, you'll be returned to SimpleTix with PayPal successfully connected
**Payment Options Available with PayPal:**
* **Credit/Debit Cards**: Customers can pay with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover
* **PayPal**: Customers can pay using their PayPal account balance or linked payment methods
* **PayPal Pay Later**: Buy now, pay later option (subject to customer approval and minimum cart size requirements)
* **Venmo**: Popular peer-to-peer payment option (US only)
**Important Notes:**
* All funds go directly to your PayPal account
* Access your sales revenue by logging into your PayPal Business account
* PayPal handles all transaction processing and payouts according to their standard policies
* Tax documentation (1099-K) is provided by PayPal, not SimpleTix
## 6. Payment Readiness Notifications
SimpleTix proactively checks whether your connected payment processor account is ready to accept payments. If there is an issue with your Square, Stripe, or PayPal account, a **warning banner** will appear at the top of your dashboard alerting you to the problem.
**Common reasons for a payment readiness warning:**
* Your payment processor account has not completed verification
* A required bank account has not been linked
* Your account has been suspended or placed on hold by the processor
* Authorization between SimpleTix and your processor has expired
**How to resolve:**
1. Click the warning banner for more details
2. Log in to your payment processor account directly to check your account status
3. Complete any pending verification steps or link a bank account
4. If the issue persists, try disconnecting and reconnecting the processor in **Settings** > **Store**
Until the issue is resolved, your events may not be able to process payments. Address payment readiness warnings promptly to avoid disruption to ticket sales.

## 7. Troubleshooting Common Payment Gateway Issues
If you encounter issues when setting up or switching processors, consider the following tips:
* Ensure all required verification steps are completed with your payment processor (e.g., account verifications for Square or Stripe).
* If you experience activation issues, try disconnecting your current account and reconnecting. Using an incognito/private browsing window can sometimes help resolve session or cache problems.
* For common issues:
* **Square:** Check your account verification status and refer to Square's support if necessary.
* **Stripe:** Verify your account details and consult Stripe's documentation or support forums.
* **Authorize.net:** Verify you're using the correct API Login ID and Transaction Key (not Access Code).
* For additional support, use these direct help links:
* [Square Help Center](https://squareup.com/help)
* [Stripe Support](https://support.stripe.com)
* [Authorize.net Support](https://support.authorize.net)

## 8. Detailed Steps for Switching Accounts on the Same Gateway
1. Log in to [manager.simpletix.com](https://manager.simpletix.com) and navigate to **Settings** > **Store**.
2. Locate the currently connected payment processor.
3. **Disconnect** the payment processor
4. Once disconnected, follow the steps to connect the new account. (Using an incognito window might help avoid session issues.)
5. **Remember:** Ensure the new account is fully verified and ready before reconnecting.

# Fees per Ticket and Billing Structure
* **Accessing Fee Details and Your Plan:**
* Log in to your [SimpleTix Manager Portal](https://manager.simpletix.com/) or directly navigate to your plan page: [https://manager.simpletix.com/general/plan](https://manager.simpletix.com/general/plan).
* In the **Your Plan** section (accessible via **Settings** in the top rail), review your current fee structure and historical invoices.
* To change fee handling for an existing ticket, open the ticket settings under your event's **Times & Tickets** or **Ticket Settings**.
* To set the default for new tickets, go to **Settings → Store Settings → Event Defaults → Do you want to charge your ticket buyers a service fee?** and choose **Absorbed** or **Passed on**. Existing tickets keep their saved fees, and copied tickets keep the source event's fee settings. See [site defaults](/docs/store-settings/defaults/adjusting-site-settings-on-simpletix#default-service-fee-for-new-tickets).
* **Fee Options:**
SimpleTix offers three options for handling fees:
### 1. Pass on SimpleTix fees and payment processing fees to customers
* SimpleTix applies both a per-ticket fee and an estimate of your processing fee on the ticket's sale price. For example, in the United States the typical breakdown might be:
* A SimpleTix fee (e.g., 79 cents per ticket) plus
* A percentage fee (e.g., 2% of the ticket price)
* Payment processor fees (estimated at 2.9% + 30 cents per ticket)
Most payment processors actually charge 2.9% + 30 cents **per order** (not per ticket), but SimpleTix estimates this fee per ticket to maintain consistent pricing regardless of how many tickets are in the cart. This approach ensures the price per ticket doesn't change based on order quantity, but it can cause discrepancies in the total fees charged per order.
Additionally, payment processors charge fees on the additional fee amounts being passed on. For example:
* For a \$10 ticket, the SimpleTix fee would be 79 cents + 2% (\$0.99 cents total)
* The payment processor fee is then estimated at 2.9% + 30 cents per ticket on the total including Simpletix Fees (\$10.99 \* 2% + \$0.30 = \$0.618)
* We also estimate an additional 2.9% on the additional processing fee itself (2.9% \* $0.618 = $0.018)
* This results in a total service fee of \$1.63 (rounded down)
* If you charge sales tax, we also add the 2.9% on the tax amount to ensure that you recover the payment processing fees charged on sales tax.
If you'd like to adjust the rate used for payment processor fee estimation to better match your actual rates, please email [SimpleTix Support](mailto:support@simpletix.com).
### 2. Charge a custom fee
* This option adds a flat service fee on top of the ticket price
* The custom fee is fully customizable and goes directly to you
* SimpleTix and payment processor fees are still charged on the backend
### 3. Charge no incremental fee
* With this option, no additional fees are passed to the customer
* Your organization absorbs all SimpleTix and payment processing fees
* The fees are deducted from your revenue
Tickets below \$5 or being sold in the SimpleTix Organizer App have a special rate of \$0.25 per ticket.
* **Flow of Funds:**
ALL MONEY collected through SimpleTix, including ticket prices, SimpleTix fees, and payment processor fees, is transferred directly to your connected payment processor account.
* **For US Square and Stripe users**: The SimpleTix fee is automatically charged at the time of purchase
* **For Square outside the US and Authorize.net users**: The SimpleTix fee balance is charged to your credit card on file at the end of the month
* **For Square Gift Card and Cash purchases**: SimpleTix cannot take fees automatically on these transaction types, so they are charged to your credit card at the end of the month
* **Nonprofit Discounts:**
* Eligible organizations may qualify for a nonprofit discount.
* Proof of 501(c)(3) status is required to receive the discount.
* Please reach out to [SimpleTix Support](mailto:support@simpletix.com) to have the discount added
For events outside the U.S., fees will be converted to USD at the end of the month at the prevailing exchange rate and charged to your credit card on file. This may cause slight discrepencies between the fee amount and the final amount on your credit card if your bank uses a different exchange rate.
# Custom Fee Feature: Adding Your Own Fee to Tickets
The Custom Fee feature allows you to add an additional fee to tickets beyond the standard SimpleTix and payment processing fees. This can be useful for facility fees, convenience charges, or fundraising purposes.
## How Custom Fees Work
* **Setting Up Custom Fees**:
* Navigate to your event's **Times & Tickets** section
* Select the time slot you want to modify
* Under the **Fees** tab, find the **Custom Fee** setting
* Enter your desired fee amount and save
* **Custom Fee Money Flow**:
* Custom fees are added to the ticket price and collected during ticket purchase
* 100% of the custom fee amount goes directly to your payment processor account
* SimpleTix does not take any percentage of your custom fee
Sales tax may apply to custom fees depending on your jurisdiction's tax laws. The custom fee will be included in taxable amounts if you have configured sales tax for your event.
## Example of Custom Fee Application
If you set up a ticket with the following:
* Base ticket price: \$10.00
* Custom fee: \$2.00
* SimpleTix fee: \$0.79 (passed on to customer)
* Credit card processing fee: \~3% (passed on to customer)
The customer would see:
* Ticket: \$10.00
* Facility fee: \$2.00
* Service fees: \~\$1.15
* Total: \~\$13.15
Of this total:
* $12.00 ($10 base price + \$2 custom fee) goes to your payment processor account
* The service fees go to SimpleTix and the payment processor
## Custom Fees and Refunds
When processing refunds, custom fees are treated as part of the ticket price. If you issue a full refund, the custom fee amount is also refunded to the customer. For partial refunds, you can choose how much of the total (including custom fees) to refund.
Keep in mind:
* Custom fees are not separated from the ticket price when processing refunds
* If you wish to retain custom fees during refunds, you must process a partial refund excluding that amount
* The refund interface will show the total amount being refunded, including any custom fees
# Viewing Previous Bills and Downloading Invoices
* **Reviewing Previous Bills:**
* Navigate to your plan page at [https://manager.simpletix.com/general/plan](https://manager.simpletix.com/general/plan).
* A list of invoices is displayed.
* Next to each invoice is a download icon. Click the icon to download a detailed PDF breakdown, which includes:
* Charges applied at the time of purchase.
* The total billed to your credit card at month's end.
* An option labeled "Click here to download this month's list of orders" is available, generating a file with a per-order breakdown.
# Understanding the Monthly Billing CSV
After downloading the CSV from your billing page, use the following guidelines to interpret the fee-related columns:
* **OrderTotal (Column G):** Total amount charged to the customer for the order.
* **OrderSubTotal (Column H):** Total ticket charge (excluding taxes and fees).
* **OrderServiceFeeTotal (Column I):** Total service fee charged to the customer. If fees are passed on, this includes both SimpleTix fees and an estimate of payment processing fees.
* **OrderTaxTotal (Column J):** Total tax collected.
* **LineItemSmtxFee (Column M):** The per-ticket SimpleTix fee for that specific order line.
* **LineItemQuantity (Column P):** Number of tickets in that line item.
* To compute the total SimpleTix fee for the line, multiply the value in Column M by the value in Column P.
* **SmtxFeeBilled (Column U):** Indicates whether the fee was collected at the time of order or billed at month's end.
* **Origin (sometimes in Column U):** Refers to the source of the order (e.g., "Public" for online orders, "Box Office App" for manual or onsite sales).

# Configure Box Office Staff Settings
Source: https://help.simpletix.com/docs/box-office/configure-box-office-staff-settings
A step-by-step guide for setting up staff operations in Box Office settings, including attendee questions and sales options.
# Configuring Box Office Staff Settings
Below is a consolidated guide to configure staff operations in your Box Office settings.
## Step 1: Access Box Office Settings
* Log in to [Manager Portal](https://manager.simpletix.com).
* Click **Settings** in the top navigation bar.
* Select **Box Office** from the left-hand menu.
## Step 2: Configure Attendee Questions and Buyer Information
On the Box Office settings page, you will find options for having staff answer attendee questions and buyer details when selling tickets online.
### Attendee Questions
* Enable or disable staff responses to attendee questions.
* *Note*: If attendee questions are enabled, it is recommended to collect the buyer email.
* Verify if the questions should be applied per ticket or per order, and adjust accordingly.
### Buyer Information
* Toggle requirements for staff to collect:
* **Buyer Name**
* **Buyer Email**
* **Buyer Phone Number**
* **Buyer Zip Code**
* This consolidated setting removes the need to configure each data point on separate pages.
## Step 3: Configure Printing Options
### Automatic PDF Printing for Web Box Office
* Enable or disable automatic PDF printing when selling tickets through the web box office.
* When enabled, ticket PDFs will automatically print after each sale is completed.
* This setting streamlines the box office workflow by eliminating the need to manually print tickets after each transaction.
## Step 4: Configure Email Receipt Options
### Automatically Email Web Box Office Sales to Customer
By default, the web box office **always emails a receipt** to the customer after a sale. This setting controls whether staff can opt out of sending that email on a per-transaction basis.
* **Yes** (default): Receipts are always emailed automatically — staff has no option to skip sending.
* **No**: An **"Email Receipt to Customer"** checkbox appears at the bottom of the purchase screen. Staff can uncheck it to skip sending the receipt for that transaction.
Set this to **No** for will call or box office scenarios where you want the customer's email on file but don't need to send them a receipt for every in-person sale.
## Step 5: Manage Sales Options
Within the same settings area, adjust the following options:
### Complimentary (Comp) Tickets
* Enable the option for staff to sell comp tickets.
* When enabled, staff members will see a "Complimentary" payment option in the SimpleTix Organizer app.
* This allows adding no-charge tickets to orders, ideal for VIPs, staff, or promotional giveaways.
**Comp Ticket Fee Structure:**
* General Admission (GA) and Flex Pass comp tickets are **completely free** with no SimpleTix fee
* Reserved Seating (RS) comp tickets are charged at **25 cents per ticket**
* Any applicable fees for Reserved Seating comp tickets will be charged to your credit card on file at the end of the billing month
### Cash Tickets
A credit card must be on file for cash transactions to be enabled. Cash transactions are charged a \$0.25 fee, which will be charged to your credit card on file at the end of the billing month
The credit card on file is only charged for cash/comp tickets or adjustments after initial sales. If your ticket settings are configured to pass all fees on to the customer with no later adjustments, the card will never be charged.
* Toggle to allow cash ticket sales.
* This enables a "Cash" payment option in the SimpleTix Organizer app.
* Cash tickets incur a flat 25 cents fee per ticket, regardless of the ticket price.
## Step 6: Set Refund Permissions
Customize refund permissions for staff:
### When Refunds Are Enabled
* Staff with roles **Sales & Check In** or **Sales, Check-in & Order Editing** can process refunds.
### When Refunds Are Disabled
* Only Managers, Admins, and Account Owners can process refunds.
* You can also set up a refund override passcode. When enabled, managers can enter a refund override passcode on Staff Logins to process refunds in the SimpleTix Organizer App.
## Step 7: Save Changes
* After updating your settings, click the **Save** button at the top of the page.

## Payment Methods
The Web Box Office supports the following payment methods depending on your connected payment processor:
* **Credit/Debit Card** via your connected payment processor (Stripe, Square, or PayPal)
* **PayPal** — if PayPal is your connected payment processor, staff can process PayPal payments through the Web Box Office
* **Cash** — if enabled in your [Box Office settings](/docs/box-office/configure-box-office-staff-settings)
* **Complimentary (Comp)** — if enabled in your [Box Office settings](/docs/box-office/configure-box-office-staff-settings)
## Emailing Receipts to Customers
By default, the web box office automatically emails a receipt to the customer after every sale.
If the **"Automatically email web box office sales to customer"** setting is set to **No** in your [Box Office settings](/docs/box-office/configure-box-office-staff-settings), an **"Email Receipt to Customer"** checkbox will appear at the bottom of the purchase screen. Staff can uncheck this box to skip sending the receipt for that transaction.
This is useful for will call or box office sales where you still want the customer's email associated with the order but don't need to send a receipt.
# Viewing Bookings and Ticket Sales
* Log in to [Manager Portal](https://manager.simpletix.com).

# Abandoned Cart Recovery Emails
Source: https://help.simpletix.com/docs/checkout-page-settings/abandoned-cart-recovery
Learn how SimpleTix automatically helps you recover lost sales with free abandoned checkout recovery emails.
SimpleTix automatically sends recovery emails to customers who abandon their checkout - at no additional cost to you! While competitors charge extra for this feature, it's included free with every SimpleTix account.
# Abandoned Cart Recovery System
## How It Works
When a customer begins the checkout process but leaves without completing their purchase, SimpleTix's abandoned cart recovery system automatically springs into action:
A customer adds tickets to their cart, begins the checkout process (entering some information like email address), but doesn't complete their purchase.
Exactly 20 minutes after abandonment, SimpleTix automatically sends a recovery email to the customer with a unique, secure link back to their cart.
The customer can click the link in the email to return directly to their cart with all their tickets and information still intact, making it effortless to complete their purchase.
## Key Benefits
* **Free with Every Account**: This powerful conversion tool is included at no additional cost, while many competitors charge extra for similar functionality
* **Zero Setup Required**: Works automatically in the background with no configuration needed
* **Increased Conversion Rates**: Recovers sales that would otherwise be lost by giving customers a second chance to complete their purchase
* **Seamless Customer Experience**: The recovery link takes customers exactly where they left off, with no need to start over
* **Unopinionated Design**: Clean, simple emails that represent your brand well without being intrusive
## Recovery Email Timing
The 20-minute timing for recovery emails is strategically chosen:
* **Not too soon**: Gives customers time if they're just temporarily distracted or comparing options
* **Not too late**: Reaches customers while their interest is still fresh and before they commit to alternatives
* **Complements the cart timer**: Works alongside the [checkout countdown timer](/docs/checkout-page-settings/manage-organization-name-on-checkout#countdown-minutes) to create a balanced approach to cart abandonment
## FAQ
Currently, the abandoned cart recovery email uses a system template that's designed to be clean, effective, and brand-neutral. This ensures optimal deliverability and performance.
No! The abandoned cart recovery system is automatically enabled for all SimpleTix accounts. There's nothing you need to configure or set up.
Yes, all emails sent by SimpleTix comply with email regulations and include standard unsubscribe options.
Abandoned cart recovery emails typically recover 5-15% of otherwise lost sales, making them one of the most effective marketing tools available to event organizers.
## Maximizing Cart Completion
For best results, combine the automatic cart recovery emails with these best practices:
1. **Optimize checkout form length**: Keep required fields and attendee questions to a minimum to reduce abandonment
2. **Set appropriate countdown timer**: Configure the [countdown minutes](/docs/checkout-page-settings/manage-organization-name-on-checkout#countdown-minutes) to give customers enough time without being rushed

# Overview
SimpleTix allows you to tailor several aspects of the **checkout page** to suit your event’s needs. All of these settings are found under **Settings > Order Form** in the Manager Portal. Below is an overview of each configurable option, including how to enable or disable them and some important considerations for optimal usage.
***
## Accessing the Order Form Settings
1. **Log in** to [Manager Portal](https://manager.simpletix.com).
2. Click **Settings** on the top navigation bar.
3. In the left-hand menu, select **Order Form**.
Within the **Order Form** section, you’ll find toggles and dropdowns for:
* **Address Requirements**
* **Organization Name**
* **Phone Number Requirements**
* **Countdown Minutes**
* **Survey (Order-Level) Questions**
***
## Address Requirements
SimpleTix can automatically capture **city and state** once the attendee provides their **postal/zip code**. Depending on your event’s needs, you can choose how much address information to collect:
1. **On PAID orders, require only the postal/zip code**
* Recommended if you just want minimal friction and accurate location data for credit card validation.
2. **On ALL orders, require only the postal/zip code**
* Same minimal friction, but this setting applies even to free or comp orders.
3. **On ALL orders, request the full street address**
* Collects the entire address (street, city, state, postal code). Ideal for events needing detailed attendee info, shipping, or regulated compliance.
> **Tip**: Requiring less information typically speeds up checkout. If you need more data for compliance or shipping, choose the full address option.
***
## Organization Name Field
**“Would you like to request the buyer’s organization name?”**
* **Toggle ON** to display the **Organization Name** field during checkout.
* **Toggle OFF** to hide it if you don’t need this information.
### Reporting & Visibility
* This field is mainly **for reporting** and does **not** appear on standard e-tickets.
* It **does** appear on **printed badges** if you use the SimpleTix badge-printing features.
* If you need organization details on e-tickets, consider a **required attendee question** instead.
***
## Phone Number Requirements
**“Is the phone number required?”** (Recommended to set “Yes”)
* **Toggle ON** to make the phone number a required field for the buyer.
* **Toggle OFF** if you prefer a streamlined checkout with optional or no phone entry.
> **Note**: A phone number can help with customer service, last-minute notifications, or clarifications about their purchase.
***
## Countdown Minutes
**"Count Down Minutes: (Default 45 minutes)"**
* This sets how long a buyer has to complete checkout once they start selecting tickets. During this time period, tickets in their cart will be unavailable to other customers.
* **Lower** values create urgency but can cause frustration if the form is long.
* **Higher** values give attendees more flexibility but tie up tickets in carts for longer.
> **Typical Range**: 15–45 minutes. Adjust based on your audience and how detailed your checkout process is. We do not recommend less than 8 minutes as that can cause customer complaints with their cart "clearing out" prematurely.
SimpleTix automatically sends recovery emails to customers who abandon their checkout! 20 minutes after a customer leaves without completing their purchase, they'll receive an email with a link to return directly to their cart. Unlike competitors who charge extra for this feature, SimpleTix includes it at no additional cost.
***
## Display Event End Time on Checkout
SimpleTix allows you to control whether the event end time is displayed to customers on the ticket purchasing page. You can configure this separately for desktop and mobile views.
### Display Event End Time on Desktop Checkout
**Toggle ON** to show both the start and end time for events on desktop.
* Example: An event from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM will display as **"8:00 AM - 9:00 AM"**
**Toggle OFF** to show only the start time on desktop.
* Example: The same event will display as **"8:00 AM"**
### Display Event End Time on Mobile Checkout
**Toggle ON** to show both the start and end time for events on mobile devices.
* Example: An event from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM will display as **"8:00 AM - 9:00 AM"**
**Toggle OFF** to show only the start time on mobile devices.
* Example: The same event will display as **"8:00 AM"**
> **Note**: These settings apply to the ticket purchasing page where customers select their event times. If you have events with clear end times (like classes, workshops, or tours), showing the end time can help customers plan their schedule. For open-ended events, you may prefer to show only the start time.
***
## Survey Questions on Each Order
**“Would you like to ask any survey questions on each order?”**
* **Toggle ON** to enable an **order-level survey**. This prompts one set of questions for the entire order, not each attendee. These will apply to all events on the platform.
* **Toggle OFF** if you do not need additional information.
* If you need to **ask each attendee** for details (e.g., T-shirt size), use **Attendee Questions** under **Events > Times & Tickets** instead.
> **Best Practice**: Keep surveys short to avoid checkout friction. For more in-depth info, you can direct attendees to a post-purchase survey.
***
## Disable "Copy From Above" on Checkout
By default, when a buyer purchases multiple tickets, a **Copy From Above** button appears that lets them copy attendee information from one ticket to the next. Some organizers prefer to disable this to ensure each attendee enters their own unique information.
* Navigate to **Settings** → **Order Form**.
* Find the **"Disable Copy From Above on Checkout"** option.
* **Toggle ON** to remove the Copy From Above button from checkout.
* **Toggle OFF** (default) to keep the button available.
Disabling this option is recommended when you need unique attendee details for each ticket — for example, events that require individual names for badges, waivers, or check-in.
***
## Additional Considerations
### Attendee vs. Order-Level Fields
* **Order-Level** fields (e.g., “Organization Name,” “Billing Address”) are asked once per transaction.
* **Attendee** fields (e.g., “Name,” “Email,” if collecting multiple attendee details) are set under the event’s **Attendee Questions** in **Times & Tickets**. This can be more time-consuming for buyers if they purchase multiple tickets in one order.
### Printing & Visibility
* **Badge Printing**: Organization Name or certain order fields might appear on badges but **not** on standard tickets.
* **If you need certain data on the PDF e-tickets**: Use a custom attendee question or contact [SimpleTix Support](mailto:support@simpletix.com) for advanced solutions.

# SimpleTix Conversion Tracking Guide
Source: https://help.simpletix.com/docs/conversion-tracking/simpletix-conversion-tracking-guide
Step-by-step instructions for setting up conversion tracking on SimpleTix using Google Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel, and TikTok Pixel.
# Conversion Tracking Setup on SimpleTix
## 1. Log In and Locate Conversion Tracking Settings
* Log in to your SimpleTix account at [https://manager.simpletix.com/](https://manager.simpletix.com/).
* Once logged in, access your Conversion Tracking settings by either:
* Clicking the **Settings** link in the top navigation bar and selecting **Conversion Tracking Code** from the left-hand menu.
* Going directly to [https://manager.simpletix.com/general/conversion-tracking](https://manager.simpletix.com/general/conversion-tracking).
* On this page, you will see two separate fields: one for the **Event Page** and one for the **Order Complete Page**. Both fields must include your conversion tracking code so SimpleTix can pass dynamic data between pages.
***
Conversion tracking customization must be available for your account. If the menu is missing or the page says it is unavailable, contact [SimpleTix Support](mailto:support@simpletix.com).
## 2. Understanding Dynamic Data
SimpleTix automatically fills in three custom values whenever a sale occurs:
* **Revenue** – the order total (e.g., 123.45)
* **OrderID** – a unique order number (e.g., LL-1234567)
* **EventId** – the unique event or show ID (e.g., 1234)
These values are available on your event and order pages (for example, via JavaScript variables or integrated within your tracking snippet). You can capture them in your analytics or advertising platform using methods such as GTM’s Data Layer variables or custom tracking events.
***
## 3. Installing Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager (Recommended)
Since Google Tag Manager (GTM) offers flexibility and easier management, it is recommended to deploy the Google Analytics tag via GTM.
### A. Setting Up GTM
* In your Google Tag Manager account, create a new container if you haven’t already.
* Copy the provided GTM container code snippet. It typically appears as follows (replace `GTM-*********` with your actual container ID):
```html theme={null}
```
### B. Using the Data Layer
* Within GTM, set up Data Layer Variables to capture the dynamic SimpleTix values. For example, create the following variables:
* **Revenue:** `[Revenue]`
* **OrderID:**`[OrderID]`
* **EventId:** `[EventId]`
* Configure your Google Analytics tag (or any other tags) to use these Data Layer variables as required.
### C. Placement in SimpleTix
* Copy the complete GTM snippet (with your container ID) and paste it into the conversion tracking code fields for both the **Event Page** and the **Order Complete Page** within your Manager Portal.
* Ensure the snippet includes the full code with proper start and end tags to avoid any syntax errors.
***
## 4. Setting Up Facebook Pixel
To track conversions on Facebook using SimpleTix’s dynamic data:
### A. Create and Configure Your Pixel
* Log in to Facebook Ads Manager and create your Facebook Pixel if you haven’t already.
* Note your Pixel ID and set up any custom or standard events (e.g., “Purchase”) that you wish to track.
### B. Implementing the Pixel in SimpleTix
* Copy the base Facebook Pixel code provided by Facebook.
* Locate the section of your page’s code meant for the header (as specified in Facebook’s documentation) and paste the base code there.
* Insert your Facebook Pixel base code into both the **Event Page** and **Order Complete Page** fields within SimpleTix.
* In Facebook’s Events Manager, map the dynamic data (Revenue, OrderID, EventId) to your conversion events. These values might be passed via URL parameters or integrated using GTM’s Data Layer, so configure your events accordingly.
***
## 5. Setting Up TikTok Pixel (If Applicable)
If you use TikTok for advertising and need conversion tracking:
### A. Create Your TikTok Pixel
* Log in to your TikTok Ads Manager, create a new TikTok Pixel, and note your Pixel ID.
* Follow TikTok’s instructions to set up custom events if you want to pass dynamic data.
### B. Installation
* Copy the TikTok Pixel base code.
* Paste this code into the conversion tracking fields for both the **Event Page** and **Order Complete Page** in your Manager Portal.
* Verify with TikTok’s documentation where the code should reside (typically within the `
` section) and how to configure dynamic data integration.
***
## 6. Finalizing and Testing Your Setup
* After pasting the code snippets into the appropriate fields for both pages, click **Save** to store your changes.
* Test your site by performing a test conversion or using available preview tools from GTM, Facebook, or TikTok to confirm that the dynamic values (\[Revenue], \[OrderID], and \[EventId]) are captured and passed correctly.
* Ensure your data appears correctly in your ad platforms and analytics tools. If you encounter discrepancies, review the code placement and confirm that your Data Layer variables (if using GTM) are set up properly.
***
## 7. Additional Tips
* Follow the ad platforms’ up-to-date documentation for any changes or extra parameters when passing dynamic information.
* Carefully check punctuation, script start/end tags, and syntax when pasting snippets — a missing or extra character can cause page load errors.
* Remember that any placeholder text (e.g., `[Revenue]`) will be replaced with real values during a live conversion.
* For further assistance or issues specific to your setup, consult the current documentation or reach out to [SimpleTix Support](mailto:support@simpletix.com) for tailored troubleshooting.

Learn how to customize text labels, show/hide the price range on event pages, and modify the 'Buy Tickets' button at both the site and event level.
# Overview
SimpleTix lets you make **basic** changes to your event pages without coding. These include:
* **Sitewide Label Changes**: Adjust global text strings such as “Sold Out” or “Register Now.”
* **Event-Specific Edits**: Customize the “Buy Tickets” button text or toggle price displays for a single event.
> **Note**: This guide focuses on text labels and basic toggles. For **visual design** (fonts, colors, CSS), see our [Advanced CSS Customizations](./css).

2. Go to **Settings → Edit Labels**.
3. Use the **search bar** to find the label text you want to change (e.g., “Sold Out”).

## Event-Specific Customizations
If you’d rather **only** update text or settings for **one** event (rather than every event on your site):
### Changing the “Buy Tickets” Button
1. **Log In** to [Manager Portal](https://manager.simpletix.com).
2. Go to **Events**, then select the specific event.
3. Under **Event Details** (or a similar section):
* Look for **Buy Tickets Button Label**.
* Enter your custom text (e.g., “Reserve Your Spot,” “Join Us,” etc.).
4. Click **Save**.
> **Tip**: This override applies **only** to that event. All other events use the default or sitewide label.
### Showing or Hiding Price Range
Many organizers prefer to display a **price range** on their event listing (e.g., “$10 - $40”). However, you can toggle this off if you’d rather show a single price or hide pricing until checkout:
1. Within the **Events** → **\[Selected Event]** → **Event Details** area:
2. Locate an option like **Display Price Range on Event Page** (wording may vary).
3. Toggle it **on** (to show lowest to highest ticket price) or **off** (to hide).
4. **Save** your changes.
Explore broader settings to tailor sitewide configurations.
# Manage Customers With Customer CRM
Source: https://help.simpletix.com/docs/customer-crm/customer-crm-overview
Use Customer CRM to view ticket buyer records, manage notes and tags, automatically tag event buyers, merge records, and export customer lists.
Customer CRM gives you a dedicated place in Manager Portal to understand the people who buy from your organization. Customer records focus on ticket buyers: when an order is placed, SimpleTix creates or matches a customer record using the buyer email address within your SimpleTix account.
Customer CRM records are based on order buyers, not every individual attendee listed on every ticket. Attendee-specific details are still managed from the **Attendee List** and from order attendee details.
## Open Customer CRM
Log in to [Manager Portal](https://manager.simpletix.com).
Click **Customers** in the top navigation.
Search by name, email, phone number, or order number. Use the available filters to narrow the list by customer status, tags, membership status, or communication preferences.
Click a customer row to view the customer's full profile.
If you do not see **Customers**, your account may not have access to Customer CRM yet, or your user role may not include customer management permissions.
## What You Can See
The customer list gives you a searchable view of buyer records across your SimpleTix account.
* **Customer name and contact details**: Review email address, phone number, and available address information.
* **Last purchase**: See when the customer most recently placed an order.
* **Total orders and total spent**: Quickly identify repeat buyers and high-value customers.
* **Tags**: Segment customers with internal labels such as VIP, member, donor, repeat buyer, or another label that fits your workflow.
* **Communication status**: Review opt-in or opt-out details when available.
## Customer Profiles
Open a customer profile to review the customer's history and manage internal context.
* **Contact information**: Name, email, phone number, and address details associated with the customer record.
* **Quick stats**: Total orders, total spent, visits or scan history when available, and customer-since date.
* **Orders**: Full order history with order number, date, event, ticket details, order total, and order status.
* **Attendees**: Attendee records linked to the customer's orders.
* **Memberships**: Active membership details when the customer has a membership.
* **Donations**: Donation history when donation data is available.
* **Notes**: Internal staff notes about the customer.
* **Activity**: Customer-level activity such as order history, refunds, tag changes, and profile updates when available.
### Edit a Customer Profile
Click the pencil icon on a customer profile to update its contact information. **First Name** and **Last Name** are required. Phone number, organisation, and address fields are optional. The primary email is displayed but cannot be changed from this form.
## Add Notes and Tags
Use notes and tags to keep customer context organized for your team.
From **Customers**, search for the customer and open their profile.
Use the tag area to add labels that help you segment the customer later.
Open the **Notes** tab and add any internal context your team should know.
Review the profile after saving to confirm the notes and tags are correct.
Tags are useful for internal segmentation and export workflows, such as VIP buyers, annual members, donors, or customers who attended a specific season.
## Automatically Tag Buyers After Checkout
Add a **Customer Tag** to an event when every ticket buyer who completes checkout for that event should receive the same CRM tag.
Go to **Events**, select the event, and open **Event Details**.
Find **Customer Tag** and enter the label you want applied after checkout. A tag can contain up to 128 characters.
Save **Event Details** and confirm the value remains in the **Customer Tag** field.
After a completed checkout, go to **Customers**, find the buyer, and confirm the tag appears on the customer profile.
The automatic tag is applied to the order buyer's CRM profile, not to every attendee on the order. If a buyer checks out with an email address that was already merged into another customer, the tag appears on the remaining primary CRM profile.
Leave **Customer Tag** blank when an event should not automatically tag its buyers. You can still add or remove tags manually from an individual customer profile.
## View Customer Context From an Order
When you are reviewing an order, Customer CRM can help you understand the buyer without leaving your order workflow.
1. Open the order from **Orders**.
2. In the buyer or customer section, click the customer name or **View Customer** when available.
3. Review the customer summary panel for contact details, quick stats, tags, and recent orders.
4. Click **View Full Profile** if you need the complete customer record.
## Merge Duplicate Customers
Use merge when the same person has more than one customer record, such as when they purchased with two email addresses.
Merging customer records is permanent. Review both records carefully before confirming.
Start from the customer record you want to keep as the primary record.
Select the merge option from the customer profile.
Review the primary record and the duplicate record side by side.
Select the name, phone number, and address values that should remain on the merged customer.
Confirm only after reviewing the combined order count, total spent, and email addresses.
When records are merged, all orders are combined under the remaining customer record. Email addresses from both records are preserved.
## Export Customers
Customer CRM can be used to create a filtered customer export.
1. Go to **Customers**.
2. Apply any search terms, tags, or filters you need.
3. Click **Export**.
4. Use the CSV file for permitted customer analysis, reporting, or marketing workflows.
Only send marketing communications to customers you are allowed to contact. Review opt-in, opt-out, and unsubscribe requirements before using exported customer data outside SimpleTix.
## Customer Record Limits
* Customer records are created from ticket buyers, not every attendee on every ticket.
* Customer contact details come from order information and customer profile updates.
* Order records keep their own order-level details for audit and support history.
* Tags can be added manually or applied automatically from an event's **Customer Tag** setting after checkout.
* Historical customers may need to be reviewed or merged if buyers used multiple email addresses.
## Troubleshooting
Customer CRM may not be enabled for your account yet, or your user role may not include access. Ask an account owner or administrator to review your permissions.
Customer CRM focuses on ticket buyers. If the person was only listed as an attendee and did not place the order, they may appear in the attendee list instead of Customer CRM.
This usually happens when a buyer uses different email addresses. Use the merge workflow after confirming both records belong to the same person.
Customer details may come from prior orders. Update the customer profile if the customer has a new phone number, name, or address.
Confirm the event has a saved value in **Event Details > Customer Tag** and that the order completed successfully. The tag is attached to the buyer's CRM profile. For merged customers, review the primary profile rather than the secondary email record.
