# Managing Venues in SimpleTix

> Learn how to view, create, edit venues and modify seating charts in the Manager Portal effectively and safely.

# Viewing All Venues

* Log in at the Manager Portal by visiting [https://manager.simpletix.com/general/venue-list](https://manager.simpletix.com/general/venue-list).
* After logging in, click the “Venues” tab on the top rail. This page displays a comprehensive list of your venues along with details such as the number of events associated with each venue.

***

# Creating a New Venue

* In the Venues section, click on the “Create Venue” button.
* Fill in the required details:
  * Venue Name
  * Nickname (useful if you have multiple multimedia seating charts for a venue)
  * Complete Address
  * Time Zone
* Click “Save” to create the new venue.

***

# Editing an Existing Venue

* Locate the venue you wish to update from the venues list.
* Click “Edit Details” for that venue.
* Update any necessary details (e.g., name, address, etc.).
* Click “Save” to apply your changes.

# Editing a Seating Chart Associated with a Venue

<Warning> Before editing a seating chart used for a live event, contact [SimpleTix Support](mailto:support@simpletix.com) to avoid potential issues such as double-bookings or disconnecting current ticket sales. If significant changes are needed, we recommend cloning the existing seating chart rather than modifying the live version. </Warning>

* Navigate to the venues list and locate the venue with the seating chart you want to modify.
* Click “Edit Seating” to open the seating chart designer.
  * Use the Select Tool to choose rows or sections where you need to adjust category details or row curves.
  * To change labels (such as section, row, and seat numbers), click the “Edit” button if the labels are locked by default.
  * You can add more rows or tables with the corresponding tools as needed.
* Once you’ve completed your modifications, click “Publish” (or “Save”) to finalize the updates.

***

# Cloning a Seating Chart

* Go to **Events > Create Event**.
* Select the venue which uses the seating chart you wish to clone.
* Choose “Reserved Seating.” A popup will appear with the option:
  * “No, I'd like to clone the chart and make some adjustments.”
* Provide a new nickname for the cloned chart.
* Click “Clone Now.” This action creates a separate copy that you can safely modify without risking the integrity of an ongoing event’s seating configuration.
