# Managing Terms and Conditions

> Learn how to customize Terms & Conditions for events on SimpleTix. Ensure compliance and manage agreements effectively.

# Log In and Access

1. Log in to [Manager Portal](https://manager.simpletix.com).
2. Click **Settings** on the top rail.
3. Select **[Terms & Conditions](https://manager.simpletix.com/general/termsandconditions)** from the left-hand menu.

# T\&C Activation & Agreement Options

* When you enter the T\&C settings, you will see:
  * A toggle to require agreement to your T\&C for online purchases. Activating this toggle forces buyers to agree before purchasing. Note that for on-site sales (in-person or mobile app), the agreement checkbox is not displayed.
  * In the **Advanced Options** section (when adding or editing a T\&C entry), there is an option to enforce a forced checkbox (instead of an implied agreement via statements like “By clicking purchase, you agree…”). These settings for a default T\&C and the agreement prompt type are independent of each other.

# Adding and Editing a T\&C

* **Adding a New T\&C:**
  * Click the **Add T\&C** button.
  * Enter a descriptive **Agreement Title**.
  * Paste or type your terms into the **Agreement** text box.
  * Use the provided formatting tools (bold, italics, etc.) and insert links if needed.

* **Editing an Existing T\&C:**
  * Locate the desired T\&C.
  * Click the pencil icon next to it.
  * Make the necessary changes to the title or text.
  * Click **Save**

* **Forced Checkbox Option:**
  * Scroll down to **Advanced Options**.
  * Select the checkbox option to enforce a forced agreement.
  * This configuration applies to new events by default but remains adjustable at the individual event level.

# Assigning T\&C to Events

* To assign a specific Terms and Conditions to an event, navigate to Events, select your Event, click **Event Details** on the left-hand rail, and then go to **Terms & Conditions.** Once you have made your selection click save.

# Using T\&C for Waivers and Common Clauses

* Many event organizers include waivers (such as liability, refund policies, or age restrictions) in their T\&C.
* If you use a waiver format, ensure that your T\&C contain a clear statement indicating that attendees are agreeing to a waiver.
* For advanced situations, consider using custom attendee questions combined with services like [SmartWaiver](/docs/attendee-management/waivers/managing-waivers-in-simpletix) to tailor the attendee experience.

# Reviewing Customer Agreements

* To see a record of the customer having accepted the T\&C, check the order notes under their order in the Orders tab.
* Here you can find:
  * The version of the T\&C (or waiver) used at the time of purchase.
  * A timestamp of the agreement.
* This information is useful for record-keeping and handling future inquiries.
