# How to Enable Tap to Pay on iPhone

> Guide to enabling and using Tap to Pay on iPhone with the SimpleTix Organizer app, for both Square and Stripe.

# What is Tap to Pay on iPhone?

Tap to Pay on iPhone is available in the SimpleTix Organizer app when selling tickets via **Square** or **Stripe**. You can accept all types of in-person, contactless payments right on your iPhone, from physical debit and credit cards to Apple Pay and other digital wallets, no extra terminals/readers needed. It's easy, secure, and private.

# Are there device requirements?

Tap to Pay on iPhone has the following requirements:

* Use an iPhone XS or newer
* Make sure your iOS software is updated to the latest version (Stripe requires iOS 16.4 or later; the SimpleTix Organizer app requires iOS 16.1 or later)
* Make sure your iPhone's Date & Time settings are set to automatic
* Set and require a passcode for your iPhone

# How do I enable Tap to Pay on iPhone?

    To enable Tap to Pay on iPhone for your Square merchant account, you need to access the SimpleTix Organizer app from your Owner or Administrator account. On this account, you will be able to accept the Tap to Pay on iPhone terms and conditions. Once these terms are accepted, all accounts in your organization will be able to choose Tap to Pay on iPhone as your method of taking payment.

    To enable Tap to Pay on iPhone for your Stripe account, you need to access the SimpleTix Organizer app from your Owner or Administrator account. On this account, you will be able to accept the Tap to Pay on iPhone terms and conditions. Once these terms are accepted, all accounts in your organization will be able to choose Tap to Pay on iPhone as your method of taking payment.

    You also need a **Location** configured in the Stripe Dashboard and selected in the Manager Portal. Open the Stripe dashboard, search "Terminal", and add a Location linked to where you'll be accepting payments. Then, in the [Manager Portal](https://manager.simpletix.com), select that Location for your site. Your iPhone is registered to this Location when you connect it as a Tap to Pay on iPhone reader.

# How do I accept payments with Tap to Pay on iPhone?

    You have two options for how to select Tap to Pay on iPhone as your method of taking payment:

    * In the sidebar of the SimpleTix Organizer app, tap **Connect Square Reader**. Ensure all appropriate permissions are enabled, then tap **Connect Reader** and choose Tap to Pay on iPhone
    * In checkout, when tapping **Buy Now** on a credit/debit card order you'll be offered the same reader options where you can select Tap to Pay on iPhone

        In the sidebar of the SimpleTix Organizer app, tap **Connect Stripe Reader**. Grant the Bluetooth and Location permissions if prompted — Stripe requires your location to process payments.

        On the **Devices** tab, tap **Connect Reader**. Your iPhone will appear in the list as **Tap To Pay**. Select it to connect. The first time you connect, Stripe may take a moment to prepare your device.

    You can also reach the reader selection from checkout: when you tap **Buy Now** on a credit/debit card order, you'll be offered the same reader options where you can select **Tap To Pay**.

Once you've chosen Tap to Pay on iPhone, all you need to do is tap the customer's credit/debit card or phone to your iPhone to accept the payment. You'll then be routed back to the SimpleTix Organizer app to complete the order.
