# SimpleTix Organizer App – Features and Modes

# Understanding SimpleTix Organizer App Features and Modes

## Two Ways to Use the SimpleTix Organizer App

The SimpleTix Organizer app offers two distinct modes of operation to accommodate different user needs:

* **Full Organizer Mode:**
  * A comprehensive ticketing and check-in solution
  * Scans QR codes, admits patrons, sells tickets on-site, and redeems upsell items through Square integration
  * Compatible with Square chip card readers, mag stripe readers, and the Square Stand
  * Requires login using SimpleTix account credentials
  * Offers advanced features such as attendee lookup by name, event date/time validation, and enforcement of conditions
  * **Role-based access control**: Available features depend on the user's assigned role in SimpleTix

* **Scan Only Mode:**
  * A streamlined, scan-only tool ideal for volunteers and staff without SimpleTix accounts
  * Set up using your organization's SimpleTix Scan Key
  * Operates in a simplified mode focused on ticket validation and admission
  * Perfect for volunteer-led check-ins as it does not require volunteers to be added to your SimpleTix account
  * Available on both iOS and Android

## Choosing the Right Mode for Your Staff

### When to Use Full Organizer Mode

* For staff who need full access to ticket sales and management features
* When staff need to look up attendees by name or process refunds
* For managing multiple aspects of the event beyond just scanning tickets
* When handling complex ticketing scenarios requiring detailed validation

### When to Use Scan Only Mode

* For volunteers or temporary staff who only need to scan tickets
* When you need a simple solution without creating multiple SimpleTix accounts
* For fast deployment at events with many entry points and scan stations
* When you need basic ticket validation without additional features

## Internet Connectivity Considerations

* Both modes rely on an active internet connection to verify tickets and process check-ins
* **Offline Scanning Mode**: The SimpleTix Organizer app now includes Offline Scanning Mode as a backup solution when internet connectivity is poor or unavailable
* This mode uses locally stored ticket data that syncs every three minutes when connected to the internet

## Additional Integration and Setup Details

* The Organizer app integrates with Square for on-site sales and ticket processing
* Ensure you are using compatible devices (chip readers, mag stripe readers, or the Square Stand)
* Square terminals and registers are not currently supported
