0:00 Hello, and welcome to the SimpleTix help desk tutorials. Today, we're going to discuss how to change the time on a ticket.
0:08 First, click orders in the top rail, and then search for the order that you want to change the time of the ticket.
0:14 Clicking into this will open up the order modal, and you can see the tickets that were purchased in this. There are three ways to change a ticket on SimpleTix.
0:23 The first two ways only apply to general admission events. To change the time of a ticket from one event time to another, where it's going to be the same ticket in both times, you can click edit, select which ticket you want to be changed, let's say we only want to do one, click change selected ticket
0:42 times, and then select a new time here, and then click complete time change. will, as you can see here, move the ticket to the new time, automatically send the order confirmation email, and switch up all of the barcodes.
0:57 To do this for the other tickets, you would click edit here and move this. This is great for when you have an event like an ice skating rink, and the customer emails in and says, okay, I cannot come on this day, I need to move to the next day.
1:12 Bye. The second type of time change that applies to general admission tickets is a customer-initiated time change. And so, if you click action, and then get time change link, you'll be able to get this link that you can send to the customer.
1:29 This will let the customer pick which tickets they want to change, and then do the time change themselves. So, in that example with the ice rink, again, it could be someone saying, hey, I can't come today.
1:38 Uh, I want to reschedule my tickets, but I don't know when I want to. You can send them this link, and that will simplify operations significantly on your end.
1:47 This is what the flow looks like. They can select which tickets they want to change, uh, and they're changing for the entire time.
1:53 Let's say they want to move all of these to the 23rd at 10 a.m. Important to note that both of these options only work for changing between times with the exact same ticket types.
2:06 So, if you had a general admission ticket, uhm, that you want to change, you need to make sure that the other times that you want them to change it to also have general admission tickets.
2:16 For all other ticket changes, for flex pass tickets, for reserve seating tickets, or where you want to change the general admission ticket from one type to another type, you need to use the add a ticket to an order and then delete the ticket.
2:33 So, in this example, we're going to go to action, then you're going to say add another ticket to the order.
2:41 You'll find the new ticket that you want to add, and it could be for an entirely different event. Let's just say, for this one, we want to change this to add.
2:48 Add the FlexPass ticket. We'll add one of these. You can click then, uh, add ticket no charge, or you can have purchase ticket if you have them on the phone.
2:59 Clicking add ticket no charge will add it to the order. And then, let's just say we were trying to switch this one.
3:04 You can then click edit and delete selected ticket. So, that's how you'd switch all other types of tickets, where it's not going to be a one-to-one.
3:12 You're just moving the event. Great. So, those are the three ways that you can change a ticket on SimpleTix. Please reach out to support at SimpleTix.com if you have any questions.

## 1. Same Event Time Change for General Admission Tickets

Use this method to reschedule tickets within the same event when all General Admission ticket types have multiple event times.

**Example:** Changing a Regular Admission Ticket for SimpleTix Fairs from Friday at 12pm to Saturday at 12pm.

1. **Click the Pencil Button Next to GA Tickets:**\
This icon allows you to edit the ticket details (see Image #3).

2. **Change Ticket Times:**\
You will see an option to change the selected ticket times (see Image #4).

3. **Reschedule the Customer:**\
Staff can select a new time and reschedule the customer accordingly.\
*Note:* This option works only for General Admission events with multiple times and allows switching only into the same ticket type at a different time.

## 2. General Admission Customer-Initiated Time Change

This method empowers the customer to change their own ticket time via a special link, even if the event is over or if time changes are generally disabled. It simplifies the process and prevents the need for issuing refunds.

a. **Request the Change Time Link:**

* Click **Action > Get Change Time Link.**
* Copy the link and send it to the customer.\
  *(See Image #1)*

b. **Customer Reschedules:**

* When the customer opens the link, they will be able to easily reschedule their ticket.\
  *(See Image #2)*

## 3. Reserved Seating, Flex Pass, and Other Changes

For scenarios involving reserved seating, Flex Pass events, or different ticket types:

* **Examples:**
  * Changing a customer from "SimpleTix Musical" on Jan 1st to "SimpleTix The Play" on Jan 8th (different events – cannot be changed).
  * Upgrading a Regular Admission ticket to a VIP Admission ticket (different ticket types).
  * Adjusting someone’s reserved seat.

Follow these steps:

1. **Add Another Ticket:**
   * Click **Action > Add Another Ticket.**

2. **Select and Add New Tickets:**
   * Choose the tickets you want to add and add them to the order.
   * Note: If you choose the No Charge option, the order value will reflect the value of the tickets but the customer will not be charged the additional amount.
*Note:* You will need a credit card on file with SimpleTix to make changes of this type.

3. **Delete the Old Ticket:**
   * Click the pencil button next to the ticket(s) you want to swap and select **Delete**.
